October 2021

"It is a beautiful feeling to know that a stranger can

make a huge impact in my life and that of my children."

- Celeste

It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

With COVID-19 leveling out (go away, COVID!), we are again able to have some in-person fundraisers. Thanks to the generous support of some local organizations, keep scrolling to see what we have in store for you this fall!

Also, mark your calendars for April 30, 2022! We finally get to dance the night away at our Breast Intentions Gala with our newly rescheduled date.

Over the past 16 months or so, no organization has been immune from the impact of COVID-19, on our lives, our finances, or our ability to help others. We hope you have been staying healthy and strong through these trying times.

Thanks to the generosity of our team of supporters, we have been able to continue with our mission to help those living with a breast cancer diagnosis. For this, we will forever be grateful to all who have contributed to our organization.

We are truly humbled by your support.

Now THAT'S a win/win!

Our Breast Intentions...

Thank you for your generous support.

Here are a couple of stories about people we have helped BECAUSE OF YOU:

JM was diagnosed with HER 2 positive breast cancer. She went through chemotherapy and radiation. Her husband is self-employed and they have 2 children. JM went out of work on family leave in March, April, and May with no pay. Because she ran out of benefits, she was paying for health insurance herself. BECAUSE OF YOU, Breast Intentions was able to provide JM and her family with a Visa gift card, and cover two of her car payments. JM was able to return to work early this summer.

TH is a 47-year-old single parent of an adult daughter. She was originally diagnosed in 2014 after a hysterectomy, which then led to a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and implants. At her 5 year checkup, they found another lump behind one of her breasts and unfortunately, she was then diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in March 2021. She is currently out of work on temporary disability. Due to all of her surgeries, she ended up taking more leave than expected, and her job does not cover health insurance for extended leave. BECAUSE OF YOU, we were able to get her health insurance payments up-to-date.

SE is a 51-year-old mother of two, who was diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Negative breast cancer in May 2021. She has worked for the same Home Health Care Agency for 18 years. Since her health insurance wouldn't cover the chemotherapy treatments needed before getting her bilateral mastectomy, SE had to get new coverage. Her new coverage fortunately covered the treatments, but has a high co-pay that she is struggling to pay. Additionally, she has yet to receive a disability payment, which she applied for due to the effects of chemotherapy. BECAUSE OF YOU, we were able to help SE with her healthcare co-pays and insurance, as well as provide her with a grocery gift card.

The women listed above are very grateful for an organization like ours.

What we know for sure is that we are making a difference – BECAUSE OF YOU.

We are humbled by your generosity.

Thank you for standing with us.
